The Eco-Ministry Team seeks ways in which participants can claim to make a difference, both large and small, as we come to value the interconnectedness of all that is and grow to reverence the gift of the earth in ways we have not before. The team is actively looking at ways that First United Methodist Church of Pittsburgh can be more faithful in its stewardship of God’s resources. In the past, the team has held “lunch and learn” series which focused on climate change, sustainability, fossil fuel consumption, carbon footprint, etc. and included a book study on “The Sixth Extinction.” Beginning in September 2016, the format will be changing from a reading group to an Environmental Film Series. Films being considered include: Climate of Doubt, Six Degrees, Lost Mountain and Food, Inc.
